Mit dieser Frage könnte jede Englischstunde beginnen. Das Thema "Wetter" ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Sachunterrichts und kann in diesem Zusammenhang auch im Englischunterricht behandelt werden. Um den eingeführten Wortschatz und die Sprachstrukturen zu sichern, wird anschließend täglich die oben angegebene Frage beantwortet.

Wortschatzeinführung

Die weather-words führe ich mit Hilfe von flash-cards ein.
Die Kinder sprechen die Wörter im Chor oder einzeln nach und begleiten die Wörter mit entsprechenden Bewegungen:
sunny   -  Arme in Kreisform über den Kopf heben
snowy  -  Finger spreizen und Hände langsam von oben nach unten gleiten lassen
foggy   -  Hände vor dem Gesicht hin und her bewegen
cloudy  - Hände vor dem Körper hin und her bewegen (Handflächen nach vorn)
rainy    -  Finger und Hände bewegen sich ganz schnell von oben nach unten
windy   - Hände liegen wie ein Trichter neben dem Mund

Wenn die Kinder die Wörter und die Bewegungen dazu kennen, kann man zur Sicherung folgende Übungen durchführen:

- Sechs Kinder erhalten je eine flashcard. Die anderen Kinder müssen auf 
  Zuruf des Lehrers/der Lehrerin zu der genannten Karte laufen.

- Der Lehrer/Die Lehrerin spricht die Vokabeln tonlos, nur mit etwas 
  übertriebener Mundbewegung ("Silent Words"), die Kinder nennen 
  das Wort laut.

- Der Lehrer/Die Lehrerin macht nur die vereinbarte Bewegung vor. 
  Die Kinder nennen das damit verbundene Wort.

Wie auch im Sachunterricht sollte man im Englischunterricht auch ein weather-chart führen. Die Tabelle ist für vier Wochen angelegt. Dazu gehören kleine Wetterbilder, die die Kinder ausschneiden und einkleben sollen. In einer kleinen Schachtel liegen viele kleine Bilder, die die Kinder passend zum Wetter herausnehmen können. Alternativ können auch die englischen Vokabeln eingetragen werden.

Dieses Lied kann man entweder nur singen oder auch als Bewegungsspiel einsetzten.

Hier sind Text und Melodie zum Mitsingen.

Und hier ist die Spielversion. Es wird nur die erste Strofe gesungen und dann spricht ein "caller", welche Bewegungen ausgeführt wewrden müssen, z.B. "Thumbs up". die Kinder wiederholen "Thumbs up" und machen gleichzeiti die Bewegung. Bei "Choo cha......" wird die Hüfte nach rechts und links geschoben.
