At the doctor's

Themenbereich.

headache, earache, toothache, temperature, sprained ankle,
(mögliche Erweiterung: cough, cold, stomachache, broken arm, splinter, bruise, cut, sore throat, ....)
What's wrong with you?

Toothache

Early one morning all the animals in the jungle wake up by a loud "aaaaahhh – oooooh – ouch – ouch".
The elephants wake up.
The giraffes wake up.
The monkeys wake up.
And the fish in the river wake up.
"Aaaaahhh – oooooh – ouch – ouch". Who's making that terrible noise?
"It sounds like Billy Alligator," says a little monkey. Oh no! Not Billy Alligator! All the animals are frightened of him because he always snaps at them.
Slowly and carefully the go to Billy's house.
"Aaaaahhh – oooooh – ouch – ouch. Please, help me!" They hear Billy's voice from the inside.
What's the matter with Billy?
But the elephants don't go into the house.
The giraffes don't go into the house.
And the monkeys don't go into the house.
They are frightened of Billy's sharp teeth.
Only Sunny, the little yellow fish, isn't frightened. "I'll go and see what's wrong with Billy."
Alligators don't eat fish because of the fishbones.
And off he goes.
Billy Alligator is lying in his bed, his mouth wide open. He is crying.
"What's wrong with you, Billy," asks Sunny, "have you got a headache?"
"No, I haven't got a headache," cries Billy.
"Have you got an earache?"
"No, I haven't got an earache." cries Billy.
"Have you got a temperature or a sprained ankle?" asks Sunny.
"No, I haven't. – Aaaaah – Look here. I've got a toothache. It hurts so much. Please help me."
What can Sunny do? He runs back to the elephants, the giraffes and the mon-keys and they
make a plan.
Sunny goes back to Billy with a rope in his hands. He puts the rope around the aching tooth. T
hen he throws the other end of the rope out of the window. The elephants, the giraffes and the monkeys take the rope and they pull – and they pull - and they pull – and then …….
The tooth pops out of Billy's mouth.
Billy is happy. Together with Sunny he goes to the animals. "Thank you very much for your help.
I promise not to snap at you again. Let's be friends. Friends help each other."
And from now on the animals in the jungle and Billy Alligator are best friends.

Flashcards erhalten Sie hier:

Dann werden kleine Dialoge in Partnerarbeit (One of you is the doctor, and you have got a problem) erarbeitet nach dem Muster:
What's your problem? -  I have a .....

Songs

Miss Polly had a dolly

Miss Polly had a dolly that was sick, sick, sick.
(Cradle arms and look sad)
She called for the doctor to come quick, quick, quick.
(Clap hands 3 times)
The doctor came with his coat and his hat.
(Point to your shirt and head)
And rapped on the door with a rap, rap, rap.
(Pretend to knock three times)
He looked at the dolly and he shook his head.
(Shake head)
And he said, “Miss Polly, put her straight to bed.”
(Shake finger)
Then he wrote on a paper for some pills, pills, pills.
(Pretend to write)
I’ll be back in the morning with my bill, bill, bill.
(Pretend to give bill)
