Wortschatzeinführung

1. Variante

Zur Einführung benutze ich kleine einfarbige Stofftücher, die ich zuvor in Form eines T-Shirts ausgeschnitten habe. Eine Wäscheleine und Klammern werden noch benötigt.

L: Today is washing-day. Look, here are a lot of t-shirts in the basket.
     Let's hang them on the line (Bewegung des Aufhängens machen).
     (name), please, hang up the brown T-shirt.

Ein Schüler/Eine Schülerin hängt das entsprechende T-Shirt auf.
Es werden nach und nach im Sinne des Total Physical Response alle T-Shirts aufgehängt.

Game:If you're wearing something red

Wichtig: Der Lehrer/Die Lehrerin sollte jede Anweisung erst einmal selber vormachen.

L: If you're wearing something red, go to the door.

Die KInder folgen der Aufforderung und setzen sich anschließend wieder hin.

L: If you're wearing something green, jump like a frog.

Die Kinder mit grünen Kleidungsstücken hüpfen wie ein Frosch.

Weitere Möglichkeiten:
- If you're wearing something blue, swim like a fish.
- If you're wearing something yellow, eat a banana.
- If you're wearing something black, fly like a bird.
- If you're wearing something white, whirl around like a snowflake.
- If you're wearing something brown, move like a bear.

Erfinden Sie weitere Möglichkeiten.
 

Wenn die Kleidungsstücke bereits eingeführt worden sind, können die Kinder diese beschreiben:
My anorak is blue. My blouse is white. ....

2. Variante
Eine weitere Möglichkeit der Einführung der Farben ist das story-telling.
Die Geschichte heißt

Scat the cat

und wird mit Hilfe der flash-cards erzählt. Schneiden Sie mehrere Katzen aus farbigen Tonpapier aus (black, green, blue, red, yellow).
Hier ist zunächst die kurze Version:

Scat the cat

Scat the cat was a black cat. Everyone in his family was black. But Scat the cat was tired of being like everyone else. So he said :" I'm Scat the cat, I'm sassy and fat. I change my colours just like that!" (snap fingers)
So Scat the cat changed into a (name of colour) cat. He was as (green as the grass; blue as the sky; red as an apple; yellow as a lemon; orange as an orange). Scat the cat enjoyed being a (name of colour) cat. for a few days. But then he got tired. So he said: " I'm Scat the cat, I'm sassy and fat. I change my colours just like that!" Well, Scat the cat had changed his colours many times. He found out that it wasn't so bad being a black cat. So he said: " I'm Scat the cat, I'm sassy and fat. I change my colours just like that!"  And he was happy being black again.
 

Kinder mit mehr Englischkenntnissen können auch die längere Version verstehen, wenn das entsprechende Bildmaterial eingesetzt wird:

Scat The Cat 
Once upon a time there was a little BLACK cat and his name was Scat the Cat. One day he looked around and saw that all his brothers and sisters and friends were black, too. Scat decided he would like to be a different colour so he said: 
"I'm Scat the Cat,
I'm sassy and fat,
And I can change my colour,
Just like that!" (snap fingers) 
All of a sudden he was GREEN like the trees and grass. What else is green like Scat? He went out to play with his friends, but they couldn't find him because he was the color of the trees and grass. He was very unhappy and decided he didn't want to be green anymore, so he said: 
"I'm Scat the Cat,
I'm sassy and fat,
And I can change my color,
Just like that!" (snap fingers) 
Then Scat turned BLUE like the water, the sky, aand what else? He walked to the lake, looked at himself, and fell in the water! But poor Scat couldn't swim...he called for help but his friends couldn't see him because he was blue like the water. Just then his friend, Timothy Turtle, caught him and carried him safely to shore. Scat didn't want to be blue anymore, so he said: 
"I'm Scat the Cat,
I'm sassy and fat,
And I can change my color,
Just like that!" (snap fingers) 
Then Scat turned YELLOW like the sun.On his way through the jungle, he met his cousin Leo the Lion. Leo said,"Grrrrrrrrrr! I'm the only one who is supposed to be yellow." Scat was so afraid that he said: 
"I'm Scat the Cat,
I'm sassy and fat,
And I can change my color,
Just like that!" (snap fingers) 
Next, Scat turned RED like an apple. What else is the colour red? He went out to play with his brothers and sisters and friends, but they all laughed at him. "Who ever heard of a red cat," they said. No one played with him and he felt so sad. 
"I don't want to be red. I don't want to be yellow like Leo the Lion, I don't want to be blue like the water, and I don't want to be green like the grass. I want to be black again just like my brothers & sisters & friends. I'd like to have lots of cats to play with!
So he said:
"I'm Scat the Cat,
I'm sassy and fat,
And I can change my color,
Just like that!"
Scat changed back to BLACK and after that he was happy just being himself.

Vorbereitung: Jedes Kind hat von jeder Farbe ein kleines Quadrat vor sich liegen und hält die entsprechende Form beim Singen hoch.

Now please lay it on the floor.

Das Lied wird mit einer anderen Farbe fortgeführt.

Vorbereitung: Die Vorlage wird auf farbigen Tonkarton kopiert und mit einem lachenden Gesicht versehen. Mehrere Kinder erhalten eine Figur.

Games

Colour Game

Legen Sie ein rotes, blaues, gelbes und grünes Stück Papier in jeweils eine Ecke der Klasse. Spielen Sie ein Musikstück ein. Wenn die Musik stoppt, rufen Sie eine der vier Farben und die Kinder laufen zur richtigen Ecke.

So Many Fish

Benötigtes Material: Papierfische in verschiedenen Farben, Tafel

There are so many fish in the deep blue sea 
What coloured fish does (Name eines Kindes) see? 

Das genannte Kind kommt zur Tafel, nennt eine Farbe und nimmt den entsprechenden Fisch herunter.

Memory Game

Bei englishraven lann man ein ganzes Set mit Memory-Karten zu den Farben herunterladen (Rubrik "flashcards")
 

Colour Bears

Jedes Kind hat ein Bärengesicht in einer bestimmten Farbe vor sich. 

L:  Blue bear, blue bear what do you see?

Die Kinder mit dem blauen Bären stehen auf und nennen einen blauen Gegenstand in der Klasse.
Dann geht es mit den anderen Farben weiter.
 

Crayon Pass 

Fünf Kinder stehen im Kreis. Jeweils ein Kind erhält einen roten, blauen, gelben, grünen und lila Buntstift. Während Musik spielt, geben die Kinder ihren Buntstift an ihren Nachbarn weiter.
Wenn die Musik stoppt, muss jedes Kind die Farbe seines Stifts, den es gerade in der Hand hält, nennen.

I spy with my little eye

L: “I spy with my little eye something green.” 

Die SchülerInnen wiederholen den Satz und nennen einen grünen Gegenstand in der Klasse:

S: "I spy with my little eye something green - and that is my green crayon."
 

Let's celebrate a Red Day

Wie wäre es mit der Einführung eines Red Day, eines Green Day oder Blue Day?

Ich habe mehrere Schuhkartons mit einfarbigem Geschenkpapier rot, gelb, blau, grün, violett, schwarz, pink und weiß beklebt.
Die Kinder sammeln an dem speziellen Green Day z.B. alles, was grün ist. Vieles wird natürlich auch gemalt und als Bild in die Schachtel gelegt.
Mögliche Sprachstrukturen sind:
- What's in the box?
- In the box there is a tree, a leaf, an apple, .....
- The apple is green. The leaf is green....

Dazu passen dann viele Lieder, Reime und Spiele, die sich mit der Farbe grün befassen. Natürlich sollen die Kinder an diesem Tag auch grün angezogen in die Schule kommen.
